Current Analyst & Author

As a civilian, Gary has worked primarily in the defense industry under multiple contracts including the Department of Defense / Department of War (DoW) Joint Staff J7, the US Army National Guard Exportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) program and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) exercise training program.

Current Russian Strategic Affairs Analyst with knowledge of Russian force development and Russian military doctrine. Specialization in strategic forecasting and Eastern European security.

Education:

  • 2010 Master’s degree from the University of Texas with a concentration in Intelligence and National Security Studies (INSS).

  • 2022 certification: Google Data Analytics with SQL + programming language R.

Gary is a retired US Army officer with worldwide duty assignments and deployments:

  • Panama 1995 (Operation Fuertas Defensas)

  • Saudi Arabia / Kuwait 1996 (Operation Vigilant Warrior)

  • Kosovo / Albania 1999 (Operation Joint Guardian II)

  • Iraq 2003 (Operation Iraqi Freedom I); Bronze Star recipient

  • Afghanistan 2011 (Operation Enduring Freedom XI); Bronze Star Recipient
